Welcome! In here you will find nearly 30 years worth of random recorded bits of music. I first tried multi-track recording in 1998, with a borrowed Yamaha 4 track cassette recorder. No manuals, no assistance (no internet). It pretty much set the tone for the next several decades…just kinda figuring it out as I go. It was interesting to hear the progression from the cassette hiss to the clicking of hard disc recorder, and finally to eerie silence of computer DAWs. The technology has vastly improved over these years, and I hope I have a little bit too. Some of these are completely finished, some are demos that could not be rougher. Some written for and with other people for very specific reasons. They range from serious to goofy, and genre wise, it's pretty all over the map. If you don't like a song, skip to the next one. Chances are good it's wildly different. I have loaded the bad with the good, as it's all a part of the process. And while we're talking about quality…I've played the drums forever, and when asked, I would say I'm a drummer. I took piano lessons when I was a kid, but it didn't last very long. I never touched a guitar or bass until I was in my early 20s. Most of these examples are 100% me. I played everything, recorded it, arranged it, mixed it, etc. Like the actual recording process, I'm just kinda figuring it out and making it up as I go. So if you hear an exceptional guitar solo, or horns of any kind, that wasn't me. If you click the “info” button to the far right in the song list, I will note where and when the song was recorded, and if there were any guest stars involved…as well as any context or interesting info I may recall about the time. Oh, and I'm not a singer. You will hear my voice in some of these…for one of two reasons. Either it's because the music was written for a specific situation, where it would not have made sense for anyone else to sing it. Or, most often, I just couldn't find anyone to sing it for me. So I sang a rough idea, hoping one day it would be replaced by someone more qualified. None of these have been mastered, and the sound quality ranges from “yikes” to “that's not so bad”. As with any listening situation, I recommend headphones to get the most out of these. It was quite a trip down memory lane putting all of these in one place. It's not all great, but no one hits every shot they take. I will continue to add music as I make it. And if I find more old stuff, I'll add that, too. There is a large part of my career that I can not include here. I have produced/arranged lots of songs for lots of artists, and played on a ton more. But if I have no claim as a writer, it won't be in here. Also, for similar legal reasons, no cover songs. You will see a “Streaming Access” button. In order to stream this music, there is a one time charge of $19.99. This will grant you access to stream as much as you like, forever! Once you have paid, you will receive a password to use to begin listening. Click the “Listen Here” tab in the upper right, and enter the password on the next screen. There is also a “links” page. This will take you to hear other music I've produced or otherwise been a part of. Or click the “public noises” link. This will take you to a list of every live performance I can remember doing. And if you need photos, click that one. This site represents thousands of hours spent experimenting. Holed up in a room obsessing about every detail, trying my best to bring to life the stuff I hear in my head. I've been trying to figure out what to do with all this music for quite some time. It felt like a waste to spend all this time creating, just to have the fruits of the labor sitting on a hard drive. My hope is that you find at least one thing in all this noise that resonates with you. It has definitely been a labor of love, and I love you for being here. Thank you!
